Petti pathiri/Meat box

All purpose flour : 1 ½ cup
For filling
Chopped chicken breast : 200g
Turmeric powder : ½ tsp

Pepper powder : 1 tsp

Garam masala : ½ tsp
Making meat filling

Oil : 2 tsp

Chopped onion : 2/3 (depends on size)

Chopped green chilli : 1 tsp

Chopped garlic : 1 tsp

Chopped ginger : 1 tsp

Turmeric powder : ¼ tsp

Chilli powder : ½ tsp

Curry leaves and coriander leaves : 1 tbsp


Hard boiled egg : 2

Oil for frying

  • Cook chicken with turmeric powder, pepper powder, garam masala, salt and enough water
  • Cook well and make sure all water dried up.
  • Saute onion in a separate pan with 2 tsp of oil then add green chilli, ginger, and garlic saute well
  • Add turmeric powder, chilli powder and salt saute well
  • Add cooked chicken, curry leaves and coriander leaves mix well and keep for few more minute. Turn of the fire and let it cool
  • Cut boiled egg into two half and keep aside
    for petti pathiri
  • Mix all purpose flour, salt and enough water to make soft dough, knead the dough until it smooth.
  • Divide kneaded dough into 12 part and each piece roll into a ball
  • With the help of rolling pin make very thin puri
  • Take 2 tsp of chicken filling spread it on puri and place half egg at centre
  • Place another puri on top of it and seal with your hand or press around with fork
  • Drop in hot oil and fry both side until it turns golden brown
  • Drain on kitchen tissue paper and serve hot
